Ps3 stuttering sound

Needless to say, I opened the PS3 and stuck the blu-ray disc in to the drive to see what all the blu-ray fuss was about. The movie looked fantastic, even on my standard def TV. It looked even better on my brothers HDTV.

I tried out Behind Enemy Lines, and it looked spectacular. I then tried Kingdom of Heaven and had a similar reaction. Then, as you would have guessed, I tried Gone in 60 Seconds….

What the hell did they do to make this movie so painful to watch? The movie started out fine, but after about 40 seconds, the video started to stutter. I continued to watch once the stuttering had stopped to see if it was a once off. But I was disappointed to find out that it continued to do it every 1 minute or so for about 10 seconds. Right on queue, it started to stutter.

PS3 stuttering and static noises

At this point I was very angry. One option I found seemed like it fit the bill. I started the blu-ray disc up again and held my breath…. Not a single stutter or anything!

The problem was fixed. There is nothing on the blu-ray disc cover to suggest that the movie is in 24fps, so I guess its trial and error for each disc. But at least you now know how to fix the problem! EDIT: I have found a few resources on the net of other people experiencing the same problem, so if you wish to know the exact reason for this stuttering — read this thread.Login Register.

The problem I'm having is with the sound. It stutters and clips in and out. The frames per second never drop below 45 though. First I set Dolphin settings up for good graphics.

Here's the website of the settings I used. I have an external sound card and an internal one, using neither one makes a difference.

how to fix audio error, lag, absence with HDMI on ps3

I have tried other games and there are sound problems on those also. I have tried the game in full screen and in windowed mode. In windowed mode I'm able to look at how much drain there is for each of the cores on the cpu using a program I have. There is one major thing I noticed, If I go to the processes in windows task manager and right click on the Dolphin program and pick set affinity, it let's me choose how many cores Dolphin is allowed to use.

If I set it to one core the sound problem completely goes away. However the game is unplayable because it runs at only 20 frames per second and moves so slow since one core isn't enough for smooth game playing.

If I set Dolphin to use two or more cores the sound problem comes back again. Does anyone have a solution. Dolphin graphics look so much better than playing through my wii. My computer is definitely powerful enough for Dolphin so things should work. Computer specs are Radeon hd overclocked edition, ik, g. Install Steam. Fallout: New Vegas. Global Achievements. I have a lot of weird audio bugs in new vegas. I dont think it happened before but for some reason out of nowhere the game's audio, especially radio but ambient music as well, will stutter and have the broken record effect like its about to crash on fast travel, when I leave buildings sometimes and when doing the hacking minigame, it doesn't happen all the time but in my most recent playthrough it started happening a lot more after finishing dead money.

Anyone have a fix for this? I tried the Silent hill patch, setting new vegas to high priority at the task manager, increasing the audio cache and I've tried doing a fresh reinstall with no mods and it still happens. Showing 1 - 8 of 8 comments. Could be a codec issue, a driver issue… memory problems, disc reading problems… many things.

I usually advice doing a sound card driver re-install to reset the codecs and Stutter Remover for better memory handling. I dont know I do notice it gets worse the more I play even with the stutter remover and when I go back to old saves its better.

I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling my soundcard drivers as you said, I'll report back on whether or not it made a difference. I'd bet its a memory issue because it gets worse the more I play and the game will stutter at times and it freezes up whenever I do the hacking game, causing the broken record effect. Its annoying but I can live with it. I might try some performance mods or something that'll help with save file bloating and such.

EDIT 2 So messing with the new vegas stutter remover ini file actually helped a lot for me, not totally fixed but definiately helped. Anyone who gets a broken record effect with the audio should try this fix. Last edited by Agent Waffles ; 9 Mar, pm. Yeah I think that's it. Originally posted by reptard :. Hiccups and stuttering in games (PS3)

Sign in to your account. I know there are something called "audio buffer" but it is disaster to add random latency to rhythm games. There are several audio errors in log. It's not broken, it's by design. And that's why there's an option to disable it as well. The errors in your log suggest your cpu is underpowered, but as you didn't follow the guidelines for proper issue submission, there's no way to tell anything.

A blog rarely updated.

I mean the audio contains lots of noise after several minutes of gameplay. And of course I disabled it before the test. There is not much CPU better then K atm. And i'm sure I provided all necessary informations listed in.

HerrHulaHoop nah, only on Audio buffering disabled. This is not caused by audio buffering. As you yourself state, enabling audio buffering fixes the stutter. That error means that the game did not provide audio fast enough, and as such the audio buffer ran out of audio to play.

As such, either you have wrong settings, or your CPU is too slow for this game. Try reading the forum compatibility threads for this game to find better settings, or come to help on Discord.

If you are sure that 2addbe6 is the first commit where you hear any stutter, then you can try changing. Line in d Note that this will break audio if buffering is enabled, just curious if it improves non-buffered audio.

Although fps meter always flickering around 60fpsit does little lag some time. So it could possibly caused by lack of performance.GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together. Have a question about this project?

And you're using lower spu thread priority with 1 spu thread? I don't see why you'd make an issue on github for this. This isn't what the github issue tracker is for. These are more like compatibility reports. The issue is invalid, just close it. Github isn't the place for issues like this. It's more for issues where you know where something regressed, or how exactly something is broken.

These are more like compatibility reports. It's almost like creating an issue "Games that have low fps" and posting half the PS3 library even though we're in Alpha. Skip to content. Game Stuttering is a very common problem that can be faced by anyone, even if you have a high-end PC with a powerful graphics card, processor, tons of RAM, and equipped with all the latest gaming hardware. What happens in stuttering is the game freezes for microseconds or fraction of secondskipping the next frame, and this ruins the whole gaming experience.

Sometimes it may be a one-time thing because of the game issue or whatever, but if it is happening continuously at regular intervals, then it is a big issue, which needs to be sorted out.

Stuttering is also referred to as micro-stuttering because it lasts for a very short period of time only. Stuttering may or may not lead to lower FPS, as it is possible that you are getting an average of 60 FPS in the game, but having terrible stuttering issues.

However, in some cases stuttering may lead to lower frame rates that can be very troublesome. I think stuttering is more annoying than getting low FPS, because during low FPS you might know its cause, and can take proper measures to increase to some extent.

Also, you can still game without losing control on low frame rates, but in stuttering, it surprises you with sudden jitters and hiccups that make you lose control in the game, especially when it is a faced paced FPS game. Stuttering in games occurs due to either hardware or software issues, or even both. In some cases, the hardware is the culprit while in some software or drivers can cause the problem, and in rare cases, both hardware and software are at fault. I have personally encountered stuttering several times in various games, and most of the time I have managed to it after hours of testing and research.

The main thing is that there is no single cause for stuttering, and you need to figure out the root problem by taking into account all the factors. So, to help out gamers that are struggling with the stuttering problem, here I am going to list down the main causes of game stuttering with their proper solutions or fixes.

This generally happens when the overclock is unstable, but sometimes it can also happen when the overclock is pretty stable in other applications or in benchmarks. I have encountered this issue personally in some games, where the game would even crash several times in the middle if I had overclocking done to my CPU.

The same thing applies to GPU or graphics cards too. Both play a very important role in the smooth running of games, and it is generally a good idea to have more than the amount that is recommended for the game. You can also use the system requirements lab CYRI Can You Run It tool to check whether your system meets the minimum system requirements for that particular game or not.

Video driver or graphics driver is also one of the major causes of stuttering in games. It is always recommended to install the latest video drivers for the latest games. However, sometimes the latest graphics driver can also be the root of the problem, and in such cases, it is better to revert to the older stable drivers. You must remember that the latest video drivers are not always better, and not one driver suits all graphics cards the same, so you should test all recent video drivers to find out which driver version works best for you.If the video freezes on one image but the sound continues when you watch a title, it typically points to information stored on your device that needs to be refreshed.
